A court in Moscow imposed 3.5 years and a fine of half a million rubles on the co-founder of the notorious WEX crypto exchange, Alexey Bilyuchenko (before his arrest, he changed his last name to Ivanov). The administrator of the crypto exchange admitted guilt in embezzlement of users’ bitcoins for 3 billion rubles. Before the verdict, a curious thing happened that revealed the background of the whole case. Before the verdict, the nominal owner of WEX, recognized as a victim in the case, Donbass militiaman Dmitry Khavchenko, was detained by the police in a case of illegal arms trafficking. And the new director of the WEX exchange was Armenian citizen Igor Pravdin. This came as a surprise to Khavchenko; he said that people had already contacted the law enforcement agencies of Singapore, where the company was registered, about this.
A few years ago, hackers broke into Khavchenko’s email. From the letters it became known that he was connected with representatives of the FSB and businessman Malofeev, and some interests of the Russian Federation in Ukraine were financed through the WEX exchange.
