A native of Baku, Suleymanov disappeared in October 2022 immediately after Kadyrov suspected him of involvement in a sharp deterioration in his health. Sources in Chechnya believe that Suleymanov is no longer alive; no one has seen him since then. All his Moscow friends (he previously worked in large metropolitan clinics) are told that Suleymanov has left for Baku and does not want to communicate with his friends.
According to Azerbaijani resources, Suleymanov prescribed Kadyrov a drug “that caused individual intolerance to the body.” But someone from Kadyrov’s entourage, who is not particularly versed in medicine, accused the ex-minister of intentionally causing harm to health. “According to available information, Ramzan Kadyrov and Elkhan Suleymanov figured out the situation, but decided not to work together further,” Azerbaijani media reported. 
Sources from the Cheka-OGPU consider it unlikely that Kadyrov released the man he suspected of poisoning him.
For now, it can be stated unequivocally that there are no known witnesses who saw Suleymanov alive after October 2022.
