Further – more: in the office of First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov there is a list of 74 enterprises that are controlled by citizens of the Russian Federation living outside its borders. The government is trying to figure out the future fate of these assets, for a good half of which oligarchs close to President Vladimir Putin have already written official letters with a request to “take them and transfer them to bona fide owners.”
The Prosecutor General’s Office and the security forces do not ask the opinions of line ministries – they act according to their own vector and command from the Kremlin. The list under discussion includes almost all of the “Soviet” assets of Andrei Melnichenko (fertilizer plants, mines, energy assets), the Acron group of Vyacheslav Kantor, and a number of other well-known holdings.
Melnichenko’s situation is the most difficult: the disgraced oligarch spent the entire week in Moscow, where he tried to solve problems related to his scandalous interview with the Financial Times and the nationalization of SIBECO. I went to the State Duma to see Vyacheslav Volodin, to the government, and sought meetings with Maxim Oreshkin in the presidential administration. However, he achieved nothing.
Thus, Eurochem, SUEK and the National Transport Company are now on the short list for division and seizure. In line for these assets are Arkady Rotenberg, Eduard Khudainatov, Roman Trotsenko, Andrei Guryev Sr., Andrei Bokarev, Anna Tsivileva (nee Putin) and a number of other persons.
