The story of an unsuccessful attempt to cheat the country’s most famous fixer, lawyer Denis Shapiro, out of a billion rubles has reached the court. However, the judge of the Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow, Evgenia Gorokhova, was unable to begin hearing the case of co-owners of the B&B holding (the largest manufacturer of household chemicals) Alexander Balakhovsky and Yakov Bosinzon, as well as manager Alexander Savoskin. All of them and their six lawyers did not appear at the trial.

There is information that they not only violated the preventive measure, but fled to Israel, where other defendants in the criminal case are still hiding: Balakhovsky’s daughter and Bosinzon’s wife, Tatyana Bosinzon, and Bosinzon’s mistress, Olesya Kaplistaya (previously put on the wanted list by investigators). The escape is not accidental – things have moved in the direction of their imprisonment, because their set of criminal acts is clearly suitable for imprisonment.

The defendants are accused of stealing exclusive rights to the trademarks Unicum, B&B, Easywork and others well-known in Russia and the CIS countries from the Best Clean LLC plant near Moscow (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and of illegal use of industrial designs (Part 2 Art. 147 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), use of foreign trademarks (Part 3 of Art. 180 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), organization of abuse of power causing grave consequences (Part 3 of Art. 33, Part 2 of Art. 201 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as laundering of property obtained by criminal means (clause “b”, part 4, article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The well-known lawyer Denis Shapiro, a member of Best Clean with a 30% share, was recognized as the victim in the case. The investigation estimated the damage caused to the company at 4 billion rubles, and Shapiro personally at more than 1 billion.

At the first hearing, it turned out that the defendants Balakhovsky, Bosinzon and Savoskin not only did not appear at the hearing, but also did not present any documents justifying their behavior, thereby showing disrespect for the court and violating the preventive measure. The fact that the lawyers did not come to the trial can also be regarded as an abuse of law, about which the victim’s lawyers Roman Kandaurov and Pavel Vlaskin will write complaints to the bar associations about bringing the trio’s lawyers to disciplinary liability – deprivation of their status.
