Evidence of violations of environmental legislation went “up” to Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko. We can suggest two directions for identifying the culprits. Firstly, as practice shows, you need to look “on the ground”, from among those who cover the destruction of forest plantations. Secondly, the coal company Energiya-NK is a structural division of the MelTEK group, owned by dollar millionaire Konstantin Strukov, and which has a long history of numerous violations during the development of subsoil.
But in the Kemerovo region, as a rule, local villagers (most often unemployed), for whom the forest is firewood for heating their homes, are usually punished for crimes against forestry. Such unfortunate “loggers” are caught, criminal cases are initiated and damages caused by the crime are recovered from them. It is this social group that supplements regional statistics, allowing us to say that cutting down forest plantations is the most common crime committed in the environmental sphere of the Kemerovo region, stubbornly not noticing dozens of hectares of forests buried under heaps.
