A statement against Alexander Terentyev Jr. was written by Vice-Governor Evgeny Khromushin, allegedly extorting money for the so-called negative blocks. “Derzhimorda” indeed harshly criticized the Moscow region authorities. Previously, Terentyev was contacted after the arrest of the administrators of a whole network of regional public pages with which the oil company employee was dealing. They were all arrested by the Krasnogorsk court, appeals to a higher court did not help, although the same Terentyev claimed at least a softening of the conditions.
In management and PR circles, he is known primarily as the son of Alexander “Mammoth” Terentyev. A talented journalist, the father of Terentyev Jr., began his career together with the future vice-president of Rosneft, Mikhail Leontyev. Together they were published in large circulations, where over time “Mammoth” added its offspring. The working relationship grew into a strong friendship – for good money and with the assistance of his father’s comrades, Terentyev Jr. educated at the London School of Economics, in 2007 he even wrote an essay in BBC.Russia about how his compatriots love the capital of Great Britain. Since then, the journalist has firmly connected himself with political topics and even received a Ph.D. degree for a dissertation entitled “New trends in relations within the US-Europe-Russia triangle.” A little later he wrote the book “The Age of Obama.” With such baggage Terentyev Jr. I easily got a job as a special correspondent for Senator Alexei Pushkov in his author’s program Postscript, where he covered foreign news. At the same time, Leontyev’s future deputy did not forget to publish in his newspaper “However”.
In 2017, Alexander Terentyev Sr. died after a long illness, and Mikhail Leontyev took patronage over the son of his late friend. From that moment on, he was the right hand of the Rosneft press secretary, and a little later he replaced him in this position. The duties included not only PR and work with the media, but also representing the department at various events. One of the main merits of Terentyev Jr. it is considered the creation of a remake of the cartoon “Umka” with the sponsorship of oil workers, where he was the author of the idea.
However, for a successful career at Rosneft, Terentyev Jr. there were other trump cards. The second wife of the “Mammoth” father was Olga Demyanova, the daughter of a world-famous geodesist. His knowledge is used, among other things, in geological exploration of oil fields. And the wife of the Derzhimorda administrator, Maria, turned out to be the daughter of the former eminence grise of the Luzhkov mayor’s office, Viktor Zolotov. Previously, he was the first deputy head of the Civil Service and Personnel Department of the Moscow government – in fact, he gave the green light to which officials were hired to work at the mayor’s office and who were not. Zolotov is now a member of the board of the Russian Public Organization for Veterans of State and Municipal Administration of Moscow. It is possible that such an eminent father-in-law could have some interests in the Moscow region. In this case, attacks from Terentyev Jr. and his tg channel “Derzhimorda” is easy to explain.
According to the Cheka-OGPU, Rosneft Vice President Mikhail Leontyev is still trying to get Alexander Terentyev out from behind bars. However, he faces resistance from the governor.
