The FSB called the tragedy with the Kagalym aircraft a terrorist attack. In the crashed Embraer plane, like in the A321, the trunk is poorly visible, and if there were explosives, they could have been placed there. An explosion in the tail could destroy the taxiing systems (how wiring runs in the ceiling or floor) and the pilots would be unable to control the plane. As for the information previously voiced by the VChK-OGPU about the theory of the cabin being torn into pieces due to pressure during a sudden depressurization caused by a small explosion, the nature of the A321’s painting partially refutes this statement. Experts then concluded that the crew had a little less than a minute to put on oxygen masks and take rescue measures.
Recorders can reveal a lot of surprises. However, there are rumors that if the decrypted recording contains an “unknown noise” indicating an explosion (present on the recorders of a plane that crashed over the Sinai Peninsula), then this may be classified. And if, on the contrary, the pilots’ conversations are heard or, for example, communication via a “closed” connection (the PIC had special PMC phones) with the cabin/main passenger, then this will be published.
The version of missiles hitting Yevgeny Prigozhin’s plane is not being considered at the moment because the intelligence services of no country have announced this. There were neither launches nor thermal traces in the infrared range of the satellites (back in 2015, data was collected in this way, which was referred to by investigators in the case of the crash over the Sinai Peninsula).
Bird or UAV strikes are also not considered due to structural strength. The Brazilian Embraer Legacy is one of the most reliable jets and there have been no accidents with these aircraft before. For the wing to come off, the plane had to collide with another plane, an anti-aircraft missile, or experience an overload of about 6 units.
As for the deliberate deformation of the wing or fuselage, experts view this version critically. The fact is that if the wing or tail were conventionally “filed,” it would be extremely difficult to calculate the degree of necessary damage that could withstand the overload on takeoff.
At the same time, experts agreed that the cause of the crash was the loss of a wing. Without it, the pilots had no chance to land the plane. An important detail: the main fuel tanks in this model of jet are located in the wings. Refueling occurs through a hole in the fuselage, but the fuel enters and fills the wings first.
According to preliminary information, the jet of the head of the PMC was half filled (4 tons of fuel, this is just in the wings), several weeks before departure, before maintenance.
When talking about an explosive device, you also need to understand how it could be detonated. The timer can only be used if it was activated just before departure, given the constant rescheduling of departure dates and times. There are almost no GSM signals at an altitude of 8.5 kilometers.
