Investigators plan to arrest the organizer of the deadly excursion, a native of the Belarusian city of Smorgon, Nikita Dubas. The man did not admit guilt. Besides him, the head of the St. Petersburg Sputnik excursion bureau, Alexander Kim, will most likely go to jail. Searches have already been carried out at his home and office, and now he is being taken to Moscow. The directors of another organizing company, Avangard LLC, may be put on the wanted list – since yesterday, Alexander Lazovsky has been outside the country, his mother has already been interrogated.
Investigators and police inspected the tunnels more than 5 times; together with rescuers, they walked the route along which the group was moving. The bodies of several more participants in the deadly excursion are still being sought. At the same time, identification of corpses caught from the river is taking place. The case materials already contain surveillance camera footage of the diggers going underground on Durova Street. Those responsible from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Vodokanal were also questioned – investigators are interested in why this could happen literally under their noses.
