Russian President Vladimir Putin was able to save his 82-meter yacht Graceful, worth $100 million, from arrest in Germany, carried out large-scale repairs on it and, due to sanctions, sent the ship from St. Petersburg to Sochi via the Arctic Ocean, the investigative team of politician Alexey found out Navalny.
One of Putin’s yachts, Scheherazade, worth $400 million, was arrested in Italy. But Graceful was towed to Kaliningrad from the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg a month before the start of the war in Ukraine. After that, they decided to make a new yacht out of it for the president, which had to meet the “growing demands of the owner.”
The design of the new $32 million superyacht was undertaken by the Rubin Central Marine Engineering Design Bureau, which developed strategic nuclear missile carrier submarines.
The yacht was equipped with a sea swimming pool with protection from fish, sun loungers, a sauna, and an “aqua disco” (a dance floor that turns into a swimming pool); a movable billiard table, on which you can play even in a storm, and a yacht grand piano. As the authors of the investigation found out, the ship is staffed by the same FSO officers who were previously assigned to the Scheherazade yacht.
