Very intriguing events are taking place in the Leningrad region. According to reliable information, its governor Alexander Drozdenko recently spent several hours in the building of the Investigative Committee, where he had a not very pleasant conversation. Moreover, the investigative team arrived from Moscow, from the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. There are several versions so far. For example, that the investigator’s visit is related to a “medical case” about a long-term and massive theft of budget funds from poor regional hospitals. However, we don’t believe it – in this case, the first to go to the conversation, or even to the cell, would be the relevant deputy chairman of the government, Nikolai Yemelyanov, about whose funny love affairs the Cheka-OGPU recently spoke. In the meantime, only the deputy chairman of the regional health committee ended up in the pre-trial detention center, and up to the governor himself, you must admit, it’s still like the moon.
Version two – the visit of the Moscow security forces is connected with thefts in the construction block of the Leningrad region administration. Fortunately, Drozdenko’s specialized deputy Mikhail Moskvin is in the cell. But even here he doesn’t fight very hard – according to our data, Moskvin has not yet testified against his boss, and in general he keeps to himself.
But the third version seems much more plausible to us. According to it, Drozdenko was interrogated in a criminal case about the theft of lands of the Ministry of Defense in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region, which is being investigated by the Central Office of the Investigative Committee. Our colleagues and local media have written more than once about the serious theft of land from military training grounds, and the former head of the district administration, Alexander Sabalenko, was arrested in December 2021, taken to Moscow and not so long ago was in one of the Moscow pre-trial detention centers. His current whereabouts are not reliably known; perhaps the ex-official gave the testimony necessary to the investigation and entered into pre-trial proceedings. A piquant moment – at a time when Sabalenko first led the municipality of Sertolovo, where military lands were actually plundered (they turned into the property of the Leningrad region and were built up with self-made SNT), and then the entire district, Alexander Drozdenko was the vice-governor of the government of the Leningrad region, responsible for regional property. Including for land, of course. So in this vein, everything comes together, and we can only stock up on popcorn.
